It's "snow" fun being stuck inside!

It looks like the weatherman finally got it right this time!  It started snowing last night and didn't let up until we were covered with a nice 8-10 inch blanket this afternoon!  It was so pretty outside and not terribly cold, so the boys and I bundled up and headed outside to play.  We started shoveling a path to the garage, but as soon as Kyran saw the slide, he was done with the "work".  He and Ben had lots of fun flying down the slide...snow and slides make for some quick trips (thank goodness for the soft landing)!

It was so beautiful outside...I hate to think that this will all be a muddy mess in a few days (they're calling for a warm-up this week).  But, I'll enjoy the beauty while I can!

Snow Cream!!!

One of the few good things about snow is that you can make "snow cream".  Now, I will tell you that it is certainly not a lavish dessert, nor is it something you would ever find in a top notch restaurant, but when it comes to kids, it's the best!!!  Ben and Kyran loved it and ate a whole bowl full... nothing like snow, chocolate syrup and milk to make a memorable night!

Ear Tubes

Poor Kyran had a little surgery last week. He was such a trooper and came through with flying colors. We started very early in the morning, but by 9:00 we were back home and resting.

Our cutie pie, all checked in and ready to go!

 Typical Kyran...checking stuff out.

Checking his O2 levels. Mr. wiggle toes did not cooperate very well!

Before Daddy to get a cup of coffee, our little guy was out of surgery and snuggling in our arms.  Poor buddy was pretty grumpy, but only for a little while... his happy mood returned very quickly!

 Snuggles from Daddy!

I was very lucky and got home with plenty in plenty of time to go surprise Ben for lunch.  I figured on a day that was devoted to Kyran, it wouldn't hurt to show some extra love to my biggest little guy.  He was the perfect lunch date, and I even got to see him help with clean up... he was so excited to be the special helper!

February Randomness

February has been a very, very cold month, and Mother Nature even threw in some snow for good measure!  However, we've still been having fun. Here are some photos from the first half of the month... time is flying by!

Kyran found the dryer last week... needless to say, we now have a lock on it!

One of the perks of teaching the Early Childhood class of high school students is that I get to spend time at the preschool every day.  It was so much fun getting to spend time with Ben at his Valentine's Day party.

Like I said earlier, this month has been very cold.  We've had several delays at school... and on this particular day, Kyran was adamant that he was going to wear this warm ensemble to the babysitter's.  He can definitely pull off cuteness, even in a robe and a baseball cap!

Last Friday, I took the boys and headed north to watch my nephew play basketball.  The boys had a great time and Ben even participated in the "pop shot" which was shooting a free throw to win a 2 liter of pop.  Uncle Matt was a great sport and took Ben out on the court... Ben just needed a little more muscle to get the ball up there, ha ha.

It's a Pool Party!

Swimming in January?  Sure, why not!  We were invited to help a special little 3 year old celebrate his birthday last weekend.  He was upset that his older brother always got to have pool parties for his birthday (in July), so his parents threw him a party at the local pool.  Ben was ecstatic to go swimming, since he hadn't been in months!  We asked his friend, Blake, to go along, which made it even better.  Of course, Andy "volunteered" to stay on dry land and "help" with the kids, so guess who got to go in the water???  Yep, me...white legs and all!  It was ok though, because I loved getting to play with Kyran in the water.  He is definitely more excited about the water than he was last summer.  The only problem is that he doesn't want you to hold him, and he doesn't have enough trunk control to keep him up.  That doesn't make for a good combination!  Here are some pictures of our fun afternoon.

Andy was able to get a video of Ben and Blake going down the slide...this was definitely a highlight of the afternoon!

A Little Science Experiment

I bought some Ivory soap the other night so that the boys and I could finally try the science experiment I had been seeing all over Pinterest.  My friend, Callie, had told me about it over a year ago (she had done it with her kids several times), but I had just never remembered to do it.

Needless to say, it was a big hit!  The boys loved messing with it, and it made my house smell wonderful...if you ever need to "fake" that you've cleaned your house, just throw some Ivory soap in the microwave, ha ha!

A Little Random...

Just a few random shots from the last month. I was going through my phone and saw these and wanted to make sure they made it on the blog so that the boys will have them forever (ha ha)!  This blog is my version of "scrap booking"...I print a book each year for each of the boys.

Ben sleeps with "oo-oo" each night.  On this particular night, I went up to check on him and he must have fallen asleep while he and "oo-oo" were having a chat.

Little boy butts and crossed feet...nothing cuter!

My little construction worker.  I think he destroys more than he builds, though!

We had our piano tuned a couple weeks ago, and Ben got a quick lesson on how it all works.  He was pretty fascinated to see the inside of the piano.
